A WHOLE host of medieval merriment took place over the weekend when the Knights of Skirbeck descended on a historic village in Skegness.

Church Farm Village played host to the fun as the knights returned with their Robin Hood spectacular.

“Around 200-300 people came down over the weekend and the weather was beautiful,” said a spokesperson.

The Rood Hood Pageant featured the Sheriff of Nottingham who searched people and caused lots of mayhem when a unique version of this tale was told.

A medieval tournament then took place and there was archery, cooking, story-telling and other short displays.

The Knights are set to return to the village in August when there will be a real wedding.
