Meet the new double act bringing sunny smiles to faces in Skegness....
Mayor of Skegness Coun George Saxon has teamed up with the town’s mascot, the Jolly Fisherman, to welcome visitors .
The Mayor and Jolly will be saying hello to holidaymakers throughout the summer season.
The eye-catching couple will be providing an extra holiday attraction at places such as the seafront, shopping centre and railway station.
Cheery waves and handshakes greeted the pair as they made their debut appearance together last week.
The walkabout included visits to the shops at the Hildreds Centre and a look at the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) model lifeboat .
Dropping in at the RNLI pop-up shop they shared a stick of Skegness rock.
Bright sunshine bought out the crowds who were keen to pose for pictures and stop for a chat with them.
Coun Saxon decided to team up with Jolly to give visitors an extra special greeting.
He said: “I think this is something we can do on a regular basis, it depends on Jolly being available he is a very busy fellow.
“It is just to say hello and welcome people to Skegness. Tourists come here and spend their money and I think we should thank them.
“There is so much to see and do here and we need to highlight that.
He added: “The Jolly Fisherman is the first citizen of Skegness, people look up to him. He is going to be around a long time, I am just mayor for one year.”
