Have your say on Skegness skate park development

Tuesday, 1.35pm - THE future development of the X-Site Skate Park, Skegness, could be in your hands at a consultation event on Saturday, January 17.

The Lincolnshire Extreme Sports Association (LESA) wants to see the county's east coast become the home of extreme sports and created the skate park in 2006.

The park's outdoor plaza was completed in April 2007 and X-Site has firmly established itself as a major venue for skate boarding, skating, and BMX-ing and hosts a number of national contests with pro-skaters.

LESA is now keen to expand the park further and wants to know how local residents and extreme sports fans would like to see it develop, so a consultation day has been planned.

Centre manager Nick Bray said: "We would encourage all those with an interest in the future of the park to give us their views, opinions and ideas.

"The vision of LESA is to create a home for UK extreme sports on the east coast of Lincolnshire. We're keen to ensure the local community has the opportunity to comment on our ambition and the future developments of X-Site Skate Park, which is why we have launched this consultation."

The consultation will take place at the skate park from noon-5pm.

If you cannot attend, send your views to xsite.consult@strategicleisure.co.uk or call 0800 169 5549.
