Have your say on East Lindsey car parking charges

As previously reported, East Lindsey District Council is currently reviewing the arrangements at all 55 car parks it operates - and says it wants to ensure the tariffs reflect the needs and circumstances of each community without 
imposing a detrimental impact on economic prosperity or the budget requirements.

Part of the review is a public consultation which is now underway, with the survey available online at www.e-lindsey.gov.uk/parkingsurvey.

Paper copies of the survey are also now available at some local businesses, and the survey is open until 
Friday September 30.

The survey asks residents and visitors which car parks they use and why, how often, how long they usually stay for, and what would encourage people to stay in town longer.

ELDC-run car parks currently generate around £1.6m per year in income after running costs, which is used to support the provision of services to the community.

The review aims to make recommendations that can help to inform future car parking policy in the District.

The Council’s Economic Development Team Leader, Jon Burgess, said: “The starting point for this review is undertaking market research with local people 
and visitors to the area, as well as businesses and organisations such as Chambers of Commerce and town and parish councils.

“The research will provide information on the existing car parking arrangements, shopping habits, what’s important in considering where to park and even methods of payment.”
