Greyhound trust house 125 dogs in past year

The Lincolnshire Greyhound Trust has celebrated a strong 2012 after it rehomed 125 greyhounds last year - and it is hoping to better this total in 2013.

In the UK, approximately 10,000 greyhounds retire from racing each year, normally between the age of three and four years old.

The charity rehomes many of these retired racers throughout Lincolnshire and surrounding areas and since its inception has found homes for over 1,100 greyhounds.

Kev Stow, from Lincolnshire Greyhound Trust, said: “Greyhounds make great pets. They are a gentle, loveable breed and only need two 20 minute walks a day.

“They are also the 40mph couch potatoes of the dog world – loving nothing more than a good snooze!

If you’d like to help or think you could provide a home for a retired greyhound call Kev or Mandy on 01522 569825 or 0794 131 3025.
