A veterinary surgery which has branches in Skegness, Spilsby and Mablethorpe has hailed its annual ‘Give a Stray a Christmas Dinner’ appeal a large success.

Large quantities of of dog and cat food were collected at Fenwold Vets’ surgeries for distribution to local charities to feed strays during the busy Christmas and New Year period.

Charities benefiting from Fenwold’s clients’ generosity included the Fen Bank Greyhound Rescue, Cats’ Protection (the Skegness, Spilsby & Alford branch and the Horncastle branch) and The Ark at North Somercotes.

“The staff at Fenwold and the recipient charities would like to thank all those who, despite the economic conditions, contributed to this year’s campaign,” said a spokesperson.
