A thirty-six-year-old Skegness woman has been arrested in connection with a ‘hoax’ call which led to the evacuation of Skegness’ Morrisons store.

Police received a call in relation to the Wainfleet Road outlet at about 11.50am today (July 30), with the caller stating that there was an explosive device inside the building.

After discussions with police, the business decided to evacuate the store to allow the premises to be searched by staff and the police.

However, nothing untoward was discovered and the store re-opened at about 2pm.

A police spokesman said the call was being treated as a ‘hoax’.

The arrested woman will be interviewed at Skegness Police Station.
