A car wash and table top sale held in Friskney on May 10 has generated nearly £500 in funds for the Friskney Church of England Aided Primary school’s library.

The Parent Teacher Association of Friskney, who recently reformed as the ‘FUN Association’ (Friskney United Neighbours Association) were raising funds for the school’s current Year 6 students, to help them leave a legacy at the school.

The funds are being raised to decorate the school library and in doing this, the FUN Association agreed to help raise £500 towards stocking the library with fiction books, to benefit future students.

The car was and table top sale event raised £268.61.

One of the event orgainisers Teresa Wood, said: “The event was a huge success to say the weather forecast had talked of heavy downpours.”

The interest generated from the event also caught the attention of Carrington Auctions, Boston, who generously donated £226.

Teresa said: “A huge thanks goes to everyone who helped organise the event and to those who came along to support us.”

Any book donations suitable for 4-11 year olds at the school are still very gratefully received by the group, contactable via the school on 01754 820324.
