An AT-AT on one of the county's snowy roads in the council's quirky image.

The county council twinned itself with a galaxy far, far away last week to get its snow warning message out.

At the height of the snows the council tweeted a doctored image of a Star Wars AT-AT alongside the message: “Our cameras show Lincs drivers today must beware black ice, frozen standing snow and an Imperial assault on the rebel base.”

The AT-AT, which is associated with the ice planet Hoth in the Star Wars universe certainly looked at home in the snapshot.

The quirky safety picture went viral - as well as receiving almost 500 re-tweets, it was also re-tweeted to over 330,000 followers by the official Star Wars twitter feed @starwars.
