Fine imposed on Chapel St Leonards takeaway that breached hygiene regulations

The owner of Spice Up in Chapel St Leonards has been fined for breaching food hygiene regulations. ANL-161207-134611001

This follows an inspection at Spice Up in South Road by Food Safety Officers from East Lindsey District Council.

Appearing at Lincoln Magistrates Court yesterday, Fateh Sher Khichi, the proprietor of Spice Up, pleaded guilty to six food hygiene offences,

1 Failure to keep food premises clean

2 Failure to keep food equipment clean

3 Failure to keep food equipment in good repair

4 Failure to wear protective clothing

5 Failure to protect food from the risk of contamination

6 Failure to implement and maintain documented food safety management systems

As well as imposing the £1,230 fine, the magistrates awarded £1,000 in costs.

East Lindsey’s Environmental Health Manager, Mike Harrison, said: “Poor food hygiene is unacceptable and the Council will take action against any food business that falls short of the required standards.”
