A man from the Skegness area has swapped the wrestling ring for the silver screen for his latest venture.
Professional wrestler, Aaron Waldrom, ring name ‘The Lion Aaron Sharp’, formerly of the Earl of Scarborough High School (now Skegness Academy) is set to star in a lead role in a feature film.
Aaron, 29, who hails from Chapel St Leonards, currently resides in Norwich, however regularly travels to Skegness to grapple with wrestlers at various venues in the town.
But a slightly different occupation has been keeping Aaron busy recently.
Aaron will play Edward in the feature film Z-Listers, directed by Kris Smith.
Filming started in August and Aaron finished on set on June 10.
The film’s protagonist, Chris. lands himself in deep water for fraud, owing a company money and has to pay the money back to get back on track.
Tough guy loan shark, Edward, is asked for help but not everything runs smoothy after the back street gangster has lent the money.
Filmed mainly in Norfolk and Essex at various locations, Aaron said: “I’ve really enjoyed it.
“This is now my second film I have acted in.
“The first one I played a very short role in a film called Ticketer, playing another tough guy as an extra.”
Not being able to give too much away at the moment, Aaron has also been asked to star in another film, which will take him to 20 different countries.
Aaron will still be wrestling for a living and also hopes for big things on the horizon in his wrestling career.
He said: “There’s a real possibility if things come off, I could be wrestling worldwide in the not-too distant future.”
He currently wrestles for World Association Wrestling (WAW) based in Norfolk.
