Elms charity match raises £1,700
A RECENT annual fishing match has managed to give a vital charity a welcome cash boost.
The event was held at The Elms Touring Caravan Site in Addlethorpe and a lot of effort from the owners, employees and patrons to the site went into the day on Saturday, September 1.
A grand total of £1,717.71 was raised through the match, a hog roast and pudding, large raffle and £92 came from a steam engine collection event held by one of the owners, Mr John Cragg. Joint winners of the fishing match were Jack Nicholson and David Walker, who competed against 18 other entrants.
“The whole day was fantastic, everyone put so much effort in. We would like to say a big thank you to the patrons as they helped massively during the day with food, the raffle, setting up and more,” said Beverley Dales for the site.
Over 300 patrons enjoyed the tasty hog roast and pudding on the day, which was provided by the owners and cost a £1.50 donation.
