Dahl display nets £350
The display in the Hildreds.
A CHARITY display in the Hildreds Shopping Centre in Skegness has helped to raise £350 for a children’s charity.
A corner of the centre was transformed into a scene from Roald Dahl’s ‘James and the Giant Peach’ for a national week to celebrate the author’s life.
Visitors to the centre were able to read extracts from Dahl’s famous story and enjoy viewing models of different characters from the tale. They even had an opportunity to put their hands into a mystery box to feel some of the slimy insects mentioned in the book.
The money will go to Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity.
“Children and adults love Roald Dahl’s stories; everyone can relate to them and has a favourite,” said the centre’s deputy manager Steve Andrews. “I was really pleased to see so many people come along and view the displays and listen to the story and it’s brilliant that it has helped to raise money for a brilliant and really worth while charity.”
