Absconded criminals, illegal weapons and thousands of pounds worth of drugs have all been captured over recent months in Lincolnshire thanks to anonymous tip-offs to Crimestoppers.
The crime-fighting charity recently held a 24 hour ‘tweetathon’ to highlight some of the achievements made possible by the public support.
Although the promise of anonymity means specific details are impossible to publicise, in Lincolnshire this August, nine arrests for offences including drug trafficking, supply and cultivation were carried out because of information obtained through Crimestoppers.
East Midlands regional manager Kiran Dhanda said: “Our staff and volunteers in the area will continue to work hard and engage with the local public to ensure we are tackling the crimes affecting them and making streets in Lincolnshire safer.”
Crimestoppers, which recently turned 25, has seen a 25 per cent increase in calls over recent months throughout Lincolnshire.
