A consultation seeking residents’ views on East Lindsey’s scaled back council tax support scheme has opened and will run throughout October.
East Lindsey District Council is asking people for their views on its proposed support scheme for 2014/15 as part of its statutory obligations.
The scheme is unchanged from the current year, which saw the old form of council tax benefit abolished through the Welfare Reform Act 2012, forcing the unemployed to pay a contribution towards council tax from their benefits.
The council’s portfolio holder for the economy Coun John Upsall said: “I would encourage local people to respond to this consultation exercise and make their views known on the proposal so that we can make an informed decision on the council tax support scheme for 2014/15.”
To take part in the consultation visit www.e-lindsey.gove.uk/consultation or to request a paper copy call 01507 613424.
Forms must be returned before October 30.
