A senior East Lindsey councillor has slammed the thugs who have forced the local authority to close Wainfleet toilets early.
Public toilets in Wainfleet are normally open until 7pm at this time of year but will now be locked from 4.30pm due to continued anti-social behaviour.
The council says that over the past couple of weeks attendants have been intimidated and there have been attempts to block toilets and flood the hand basins.
The authority said this had led to the decision to close the toilets at 4.30pm.
From October 31, as planned, the toilets will be closed from 4pm through the winter months.
The council’s Portfolio Holder for the Environment, Cllr Steve Newton, said: “It is unacceptable that our attendants should be subject to such behaviour and that our toilets are subject to this repeated anti-social behaviour.
“The matter is now in the hands of the local police and until the matter is resolved we will be closing the toilets each day from 4.30pm.”
