Community has say on town in plan session

The Storehouse.

The community were able to say what they feel is important for the town during a feedback session yesterday (Tuesday) after the Standard went to print.

Skegness Town Council introduced its community-led initiative which aims to empower local communities by helping them work together to improve their area.

After this initial session, the council is hoping the whole process will run entirely by community volunteers – with the town council available to give assistance, advice and guidance.

The first starter was expected to run over three hours yesterday evening at The Storehouse Conference Centre in North Parade.

The council arranged for local ward councillors to advise community representatives on how they can start up a Community-Led Plan. The event was expected to feature one-to-one or small group meetings so that all representatives could have a conversation with the councillors of their choice.

Those who couldn’t make the meeting but want to be involved can find out more informationby calling the council offices on 01754 766113 between 9am - 4pm or by emailing info@skegness.gov.uk.
