The fundraisers, held last Sunday, were organised by members of the parochial church council, Liz Drake, Jahno James and Sophie Gregory.

Liz said: “We have held open gardens events before but the classic car show was a first-timer.

“A good few people wanted to know if we would be doing it again next year, but no decision has yet been taken, although it was a great success and everyone seemed to enjoy the afternoon.”

Liz said organisers were delighted with the fundraising total.

She added: “The churchwardens are very grateful to all those who so generously supported the event – exhibitors, visitors and all those who made a donation.”

The intention is use the money for repairs and improvements to Scremby Church.
