Charity support group praised for many years of fundraising work
The plaque presentation event.
A CELEBRATORY luncheon organised by the local branch of Cancer Research UK, held last Monday at Seacroft Golf Club, was well attended.
Guest speaker Judy Theobald from BBC Radio Lincolnshire related some amusing stories and anecdotes concerning her career as a journalist on newspapers and radio.
Also attending the luncheon was Andrea Day, Cancer Research UK volunteer for Lincolnshire and Doncaster.
She expressed her appreciation to the local group for their fund raising efforts over many years and presented Maureen Wilson and Judy Hope, representatives of the local group, with an engraved glass plaque in recognition of 30 years of fund raising which during that time has raised over £400,000, a wonderful achievement for this small but dedicated group.
The welcome was given by Sue Carr who also expressed appreciation to all who had supported the event in any way and especially the management and staff of the golf club. She concluded by presenting flowers to Judy Theobald
