A glamorous black tie ball raising funds for brave firefighters and their families in times of need is taking place next month.
The second annual Firefighters Charity Black Tie Ball will be held at Grand Central, Skegness on Saturday, March 30.
Skegness Fire Station’s Gemma Wilkinson said: “The funds raised go directly towards helping serving and retired firefighters, service personnel and their dependents, providing world class treatment and support services.
“It costs £9 million a year to keep the charity running and with no government funding, they are completely reliant on the generosity of others.
“Being a firefighter is a life of bravery, loyalty and devotion to public service.
“The charity is passionate about the work to provide to men and women who risk their lives to save others.”
Charitable guests will be invited to dress up in their finest formal wear to enjoy a delicious three course mea, live entertainment from ‘The Edge’ and a chance to win some fabulous prizes.
A raffle, held on the night, features top prizes donated by local businesses including Batemans Brewery, Hair Affair, Butlins, Yates, Churchills, The Vine Hotel, Marine Boathouse and Totos.
Last year’s event raised £975 for the charity and Skegness Fire Station hope to better its total this time around.
