Call for review on public crossings

A CALL for more pedestrian crossings along busy Skegness streets has been made by a town resident.

Former Labour councillor Terry Chipchase urged Skegness Town Council to request the relevant authorities carry out a review of Grand Parade, North Parade and Sea View Road during the public session of Wednesday’s council meeting.

“For those wishing to cross on foot, it’s like a chicken run,” he said.

Town and county councillor Mark Smith explained that Lincolnshire County Council does carry out road monitoring, but that due to budget restrictions, only a limited number of projects would be approved and those would be where accidents occur the most.
