Busy time for paramedics
Paramedics have warned revellers to stay safe during the festive party season after responding to the highest ever number of emergency call-outs.
East Midlands Ambulance Service dealt with a staggering 2,384 999 calls on Friday, December 21, - nearly 25 per cent more than its usual Friday workload.
A spokesperson said: “We expect the increase in demand to continue over Christmas and into New Year and whilst we don’t want to be killjoys, we’d urge people to drink sensibly and avoid the same problems happening to them.”
