In April, residents in Church Road expressed upset that Brylaine adapted the Skegness F39 Town Service to deliver what they had hoped would be a better service for residents during the heavily congested holiday period traffic.

Bryliane say the decision was taken because of risk and that situation unfortunately hasn’t changed.

However, they held a referendum and listened to the feedback from passengers. They found that many passengers preferred some of the reduced aspects of the old service, particularly consistent access to Lumley Road even if it meant potential delays during summer months.

In May, Brylaine submitted a second timetable to the Traffic Commissioner and say they are pleased to announce, it has now been accepted.

The new timetable will begin operating from Monday, July 18, and to ensure everyone gets one Brylaine has arranged a postal drop to all residents and business in both Skegness and Seacroft on Monday.

New timetables will also be available from Skegness Tourist Information, Skegness Town Council Offices and on the Brylaine website, APP www.brylaine.co.uk/timetables as well as the service bus itself.

The new ‘Hail and Ride’ service has been introduced for those living along residential streets, outside of the main Town Centre area.

A spokesman said: “Remember Hail and Ride has to be safe, so please, no hiding behind parked cars or on junctions.

“Brylaine will also be adding new ‘Bus Stop’ signs along the route next week to show alternative safe boarding places, as the route now links the following areas together for socialising, shopping and the seafront as well as the two medical centres.

“It goes without saying, Brylaine would really like to thank the residents of Skegness for their consistent support, feedback and not least their patience to make this a better service.
