Dedicated local cyclists are already preparing for the challenge of a lifetime which will see them journey 170 miles to help raise money for three charities.
Susan Turner and her group of 13, will be cycling from Morecambe to Bridlington from June 13-15, during the Way of the Roses Coast to Coast ladies’ charity cycle ride.
But to boost funds leading up to the big day, Susan and her team, have organised a charity night complete with special appearances from Sid Dennis and Stef Michaels.
Susan said: “We’ve also organised a charity night to help boost funds for three important charities we feel are important to the area.”
The team will be raising money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer, The Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre and the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.
“My husband took part in the London to Paris 20K and it’s time for the ladies to give it a go,” added Susan.
“We’ve been training for eight months, taking spinning lessons at Fresh Fitness and have been working with trainer Lee Johnson. It’s going to be a challenge as it’s very hilly but the glass of champagne at the end will be spurring us on,” said Susan.
