CHARITABLE staff from a Skegness DIY store recently donated two large water butts to a nature reserve’s woodland.
A woodland habitat has been created at Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve, Skegness to encourage wildlife and provide and exciting foraging and learning resource for the area’s children. The butts will collect water from rainfall and staff will use it to maintain the levels in the ponds. Plants are also soon to be placed in the ponds to entice natural insects, wildlife and provide an interesting feature.
Kerry Stimpson for B&Q, said: “We were approached by Gibraltar Point who asked if we could donate the water butts, we thought this was a great local cause. We are happy to provide timber in the future and we are looking into a volunteering day with them.”
B&Q are also holding a first anniversary fun day on Saturday, October 6 from 10am-3pm.
