Post Office customers in Ingoldmells are set to benefit from longer opening hours and a modernised branch following its new-look reopening next month.
As part of a nationwide scheme, the Post Office will introduce a new ‘main’ style open-plan branch in the village, offering enhanced services alongside retail transactions.
A Post Office spokesperson said: “We understand how important having a Post Office is to residents in Ingoldmells. We are confident that this new modern Post Office service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.
“This modernisation is part of a three-year investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office, that will see around 6000 branches (about half the Post Office network) converting to new-style branches.“
Lincolnshire County Council ward holder for Ingoldmells Rural, Coun Colin Davie, has welcomed the announcement.
He said: “The Post Office is a vital service to communities such as Ingoldmells and I am delighted that the Post Office Ltd has made a long term commitment to this community and that services will now be available for even longer each day.”
The site will close for refurbishment on Monday, January 21 at 5.30pm, reopening on Friday, February 1 at 8am. The new opening times will be Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm, and Saturday, 8am to 5.30pm.
