A Heritage Open Weekend has been announced for St Margaret’s Church in Huttoft next month.
The two-day event will run on Saturday, September 14 from 10am to 4pm and on Sunday, September 15 from 11.45am to 4pm.
“The theme is ‘Material Matters’ - looking at the building and the people who have contrubuted to it over the past 800 years,” said a spokesperson.
On the Saturday at 2pm there will be music by the Orphanian Group, which performs early music and folk with eastern influences.
On the Sunday there will be a service at 10.45am. At 2pm the event will welcome the Melody Makers Hand Bell Ringers.
“Robert Pacey has the barrel organ working again and is going to play hymns for us, so we can have Songs of Paise like our village had over 100 years ago,” continued the spokesperson. “Please come along - the Songs of Praise is at 4pm”.
Refreshments will be available all weekend.
If you have a craft you think would be of interest to the event’s visitors the organisers would like to hear from you. Call 01507 490 403 for further details.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, September 14, churches in the area will be taking part in the Stride and Ride (walk or cycle) to raise money.
