A Skegness hotel that regularly welcomes music stars through its doors is set to feature in a TV documentary about the town’s entertainment scene.
The Beeston Lodge Hotel features in the Channel 4 programme ‘Skegvegas’, which is due to be broadcast later this month.
Filmmakers recorded a number of scenes at the hotel on Drummond Road while recording the documentary last summer.
Owner Loraine Parker regularly plays host to famous singers and musicians at the hotel, which has ‘60s themed bar and lounge full of rock and pop memorabilia. She said: “The programme makers found out about us because they had been filming Elvis tribute Memphis Flash in the town and he came here with the crew. They thought the 60s bar was the perfect place to film and recorded Memphis Flash singing with Shakin’ Stevens tribute Tony Star.” Loraine and business partner Neville Henshaw are used to being part of the show business circuit. Famous visitors include 60s bands The Swinging Blue Jeans and Herman’s Hermits and soul singer Ben E. King.
