HOPES that a Christmas tree could be displayed on the landscaped area in front of Skegness Train Station look doubtful.
Mayor of Skegness Coun Steve Kirk requested that Lincolnshire County Council include a mounting hole and electrical supply at the site so that it could be used as a festive focal point in years to come.
Unfortunately LCC said that it would be too expensive and there was currently no electrical supply to tap into.
Coun Kirk broke the news to councillors at the latest council meeting on Wednesday.
“I’m very disappointed,” he said. “I would love to see a tree there. To me it would be the centre point of Skegness.”
