A charity has made a plea for more volunteers to help people in Skegness who are living with cancer.
Macmillan Cancer Support is seeking volunteers who can be befrienders for people with the disease.
Volunteers will receive full training for the role, which involves listening and talking to someone affected by cancer in their home, among other things.
Ray Thorne, 65, from Skegness, was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer in 2008 and has since become a Macmillan befriending volunteer.
“I think it’s important to know there is life after cancer. I’ve had various training sessions and I’m now visiting patients,” he said.
