VOLUNTARY and community groups in East Lindsey are being offered access to high quality services and resources to carry out their vital functions.
South Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service (SLCVS) is looking to help local organisations by providing advice, training and support.
SLCVS business development and communications director, Kathy Roberts, said: “South Lincolnshire CVS prides itself on providing a quality service to voluntary and community groups.
“We have been welcomed into the district and have met and are working with lots of enthusiastic and driven groups.
“It is clear that the voluntary and community sector in East Lindsey is thriving and SLCVS is happy to be a part of this.”
The service has been assisting groups in Boston since 1998 and over recent years has begun to expand into other areas of Lincolnshire.
Voluntary Action East Lindsey’s closure, last December, removed an integral support network from local groups.
With support from East Lindsey Dictrict Council, SLCVS now hope to offer the same vital services to create a vibrant and thriving voluntary sector throughout the region.
A spokesperson for ELDC said: “SLCVS will be helping us to work with local groups to increase volunteering opportunities and also place people in volunteering roles if they wish.
“A key aspiration for the council is to encourage more people to be active within their community and there are some great examples the SLCVS have where this is happening already.”
With a well developed support network and accredited practices, SLCVS can help recruit volunteers to strengthen local groups as well as providing potential volunteers with the information they require to start .
Regular sessions are taking place on the second Tuesday of every month at Skegness Job Centre to offer this help.
The service also offers training courses on a variety of subjects from finance through to employment law.
