HEART disease death rates in Lincolnshire are among the lowest in the East Midlands.
A recent study has identified a vast disparity in the risk of dying from coronary related illness depending on where people live.
Lincolnshire residents enjoy one of the most encouraging mortality rates in the region, but health professionals still believe this could be lowered.
Chief executive of HEART UK, Jules Payne said: “No matter where they live people can reduce their risk of having a heart attack or stroke through being aware of their cardiovascular disease risk factors and making simple changes to improve their heart health.
“Those diagnosed with heart problems should take a proactive approach towards their health - knowing their cholesterol and blood pressure numbers and weight, going for regular check-ups and speaking to their doctor if they have any concerns.”
