VIRTUAL gyms are to visit a number of communities in the local area as part of East Lindsey District Council’s efforts to encourage more people to be healthy and active.
The supervised Fitness Sessions are run by East Lindsey District Council and include Technogym Easyline resistance machines, plus cardio and exercise resistance equipment.
Local sessions will include venues in Ingoldmells, Spilsby, Wainfleet and Chapel St Leonards.
Portfolio Holder for Leisure at the District Council, Councillor Adam Grist, said: “We’re working hard to increase the number of people who take part in sports and leisure activities.
“Since their launch in 2007, the Virtual Gyms have toured many towns and villages and given people easy access to fitness equipment in their local area.”
The weekly sessions cost £2 and are held at local community halls.
On Mondays they will take place at the Royal Arthur Centre in Ingoldmells from 10am to 11am, followed by a session in the Franklin Hall in Spilsby from 2pm to 3pm.
On Tuesdays sessions will be held between 10am and 11am at Wainfleet St Mary Community Hall and Chapel St Leonards Village Hall.
Spilsby’s Franklin Hall will hold a second virtual gym on Wednesdays from 10am to 11am, with Wainfleet St Mary Community Hall holding another session on Thursdays from 10am to 11am.
On Fridays the Royal Arthur Centre in Ingoldmells will hold a session from 10am to 11am.
