Campaign on first aid launched

A NEW campaign highlighting the ignorance about first aid in the East Midlands has been launched by St John Ambulance.

New research by the charity shows that five times as many local people believe cancer is a bigger killer than a lack of first aid - when actually, both need to be taken equally seriously.

Whereas many people are making efforts to improve their health to avoid their chances of getting cancer, only 17 per cent of East Midlands residents know the basic first aid skills required to save a life.
