PATIENTS in Skegness will now be able to benefit from better after care thanks to a generous heartfelt donation.
Gary Griffin, a former patient of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Service presented members from the cardiac team with a £1,000 cheque at Skegness Hospital last Friday, November 11.
The specialist rehabilitation service run by Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) provides education and exercise to people following a heart attack, cardiac surgery or coronary angioplasty.
Mr Griffin said: “The £1,000 was raised by myself and Pete Jarvis from a raffle and golf competition in May to say thank you for the good care I received from the cardiac rehabilitation team.”
Alison Bunn, Cardiac Rehabilitation Nurse for LCHS said: “This generous donation will help to fund a new exercise bike which is used as an integral part of our newly developed cardiac rehabilitation programme.
“Providing this support and advice can aid recovery and prevent re-admission to hospital.
“A big thank you to Mr Griffin for his fund-raising efforts.”
