Feeling sporty? Could you score a goal for Macmillan Cancer Support?
This year sees the launch of Macmillan’s new initiative entitled ‘Match 4 Macmillan’. The charity is encouraging teams, local companies and groups to challenge themselves to a fundraising match.
The title is just the start. If you play a sport regularly you could charge people to watch, hold a raffle, or get sponsored for playing for all day! Not keen on the winter weather? Get in the pub and organise a tournament. Darts, pool, even tiddly winks, it all counts.
Macmillan fundraising manager for Lincolnshire Jamie Davenport said: “We want the Match 4 Macmillan title to inspire local people to have fun, whilst raising money for local cancer support.
“Last year Macmillan provided financial support to hundreds of people in Lincolnshire that could not afford to live with cancer. Simple things like heating and hospital travel can add up when an illness prevents you from working.
“If you know a way to raise money with a group of friends I would love to hear from you. We rely on local people to help make sure no-one faces cancer alone.”
