X-ray patients at Skegness Hospital are set to benefit from greater privacy and a more welcoming environment following a £180,000 redevelopment.
A major extension and refurbishment, which began at the beginning of December is now expected to be completed in March this year.
Radiology services manager Nigel Allen said: “We are delighted to be working on this exciting redevelopment of facilties for patients and staff in the X-ray department at Skegness Hospital.
“With substantial funding from three healthcare organisations, patients will see considerably enhanced facilities including private changing cubicles which open into the X-ray room, a modern waiting room to avoid patients having to wait in corridors, a welcoming reception, disabled access and changing facilities.”
The project has been funded by NHS Lincolnshire, Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust and United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust. The X-ray service will continue through the redevelopment using a temporary reception and waiting area.
When completed, the waiting room, reception and changing facilities will provide seating for 18 patients.
