KIND-hearted pupils, staff and parents at Great Steeping Primary School have helped to raise £1,000 for a major UK cancer charity.

They raised the impressive four-figure sum for Marie Curie Cancer Care after holding a sponsored walk back in May.

They presented a cheque for the amount in a ceremony at the school last week.

The school holds a sponsored walk each year, and then the children and staff choose which deserving cause will benefit from the cash.

The sponsored walk saw the children walk laps of the school field.

Cakes and refreshments were also sold to staff and parents during the event.

Despite the young age of some of the children they still managed at least 15 to 20 laps of the field during the charity fundraiser.
