A 25th century mission to recapture the spirit of rock and roll provided the plot at Horncastle, Spilsby & Louth Getaway Club’s 40th anniversary show.

Staged at King Edward VI Academy Spilsby, the play featured members and volunteers from the club for adults with learning or physical disabilities.

They were joined in the production by pupils from King Edward VI Academy, and Conningsby and Tattershall Lions. There was a special guest appearance by Mayor of Spilsby Peter Grant who played the part of the Dr.

The show was written and directed by Getaway Club chairman Julian Cousins and co-directed by Andrew Murdock. Julian said: “The show starts in the 25th century where the world had become dark and gravy and rock and roll is banned. Brave citizens travelled back to the 20th century to bring back the lost legends of rock and roll and free mankind.” For more information about the Getaway Club call Jo on 01507 526955.
