A heavy horse centre based in Great Steeping is keeping its hopes aimed high for its next big event in July, after disappointing visitor numbers at its Summer Fete event last Saturday.

The Northcote Heavy Horse Centre thinks gloomy weather forecasts may have deterred people from coming down to the Summer Fete event and says it’s hopeful it will make back some of the money lost during the event when it holds a Medieval Banquet on July 20.

“We were a bit disappointed as not as many came, the weather forecast wasn’t good and it’s a worry for the month,” said Terena Bolam for the centre.

However, the centre is optimistic its Medieval Banquet will prove an attractive propsect for many.

It will have a hog roast, licensed bar, a dinner and jousting.

Tickets for the event are only available in advance by visiting the website on www.northcotehorses.com or by calling 07899 815960. Adults cost £20 and children cost £15, which includes a luxury feast and entertainment.
