A NUMBER of community groups in East Lindsey have been given a boost thanks to grant funding from East Lindsey District Council through the first round of its 2011/12 Community Grant Scheme.
This year the district council has made £134,950 available to support community organisations with Small Grants of up to £250 for smaller, projects and larger Community Grants, which are available to groups that require a greater level of support.
A grant of £250 was given to Seacroft Golf Junior Section towards coaching for children who have not played golf before.
A total of £9,262 will be made to Alford Craft Market and Arts Festival over the next three years to enable an increased range of quality activities to be offered at the Festival and to increase visitor numbers. A sum of £6,000 was made to Skegness ATC to help the group replace its well used minibus and a grant of £4,390 was made to East Kirkby Village Hall to level and resurface the village hall car park.
