An employee of a Skegness based confectionery company which announced plans yesterday to move its manufacturing to other plants, has spoken out after their job is just one of the 87 on the line.
The majority of the staff are said to be ‘unhappy’ but are ‘pleased’ to finally know the outcome after Glisten, based on the industrial estate, revealed plans to close the Skegness site and move to Leicester and the Czech Republic.
“We were all told at 4pm [yesterday] and the majority were not happy about the decision but were pleased to know finally,” said the employee who wished to remain anonymous.
Glisten held a full consultation with employees and looked at all available options but it will close the site at the end of March next year.
