The lovely garden at the Old Rectory in East Keal will open to the public on Sunday, May 19 as part of the National Gardens Scheme.
It will open from noon-5pm at the home of Mrs Ruth Ward which is beautifully situated with fine views, with a rambling cottage on different levels falling naturally into separate areas, with changing effects and atmosphere.
“Steps and paths lead you on with seats well placed for appreciating special views and plant combinations or for just relaxing and enjoying the peace. There is a dry border, vegetable garden, orchard, woodland walk and wild flower meadow. It is a must for keen gardeners and the knowledgeable owner, Mrs Ward, is always present to answer any questions that the visitor may want to ask,” said a spokesperson.
Admission costs £3 with children free.
There will be home-made teas, plants for sale and visitors are welcome by appointment.
