ADVENTUROUS fund raisers, soon set to scale the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, are holding a charity night at the Welcome Inn, Skegness.
Manorcrest Homes developers Dean Wann and Leigh Hall are due to embark on their mountaineering expedition on October 14 in a bid to raise £20,000 for Macmilan Cancer Support and When You Wish Upon A Star.
To help them raise the impressive charity total, the Welcome Inn is hosting a charity night on Friday, September 30.
They said: “As you will be aware these are two charities that are extremely worthwhile - I’m sure many people can relate to these or know people who will benefit from these charities.
“They are a lifeline to for a lot of people so any money given to them will benefit the lives of so many people around the country.
“Please could you give your support either by donating to the cause on behalf of yourself or your company or by donating a prize to the fund raising event being held at the Welcome on September 30th?”
The charities are very close to the hearts of Dean and Leigh who have both experienced the distress of learning that a loved one has been diagnosed with cancer.
In preparation for the seven day expedition the charitable duo have been getting fit climbing the three peaks in Yorkshire and Snowdon in Wales as well as cycling lots and regular sessions at the gym.
The route they have chosen for the journey to the summit, the Machame route, is famed for being the most treacherous with perilous drops and vertical climbs.
