Staff and members at Fresh Fitness in Skegness are set to take on the “toughest event on the planet” to raise funds for Help for Heroes next weekend.

The team have been training “to the extreme” over the past three months in a bid to prepare themselves for the ‘Tough Mudder’ - a 10 to 12 mile obstacle course designed by the Special Forces to test all round strength and physical and mental toughness.

Training five or six days per week, and on some days twice a day, they’ve been consuming up to 4000 calories each day and having cold water therapy to help their recovery and increase their mental strength.

Some of the obstacles on the ‘Tough Mudder’ consist of swimming through ice water, climbing ‘Everest’ and running through fire and electric wires containing 10,000 volts of electric shock.

The event will take place at The Broughton Hall Estate in North Yorkshire on September 7 and 8. The Fresh Fitness Team have already raised over £400 for ‘Help for Heroes’,

If you wish to make a donation, spectate or make a last minute entry call 01754 769265 for more details.
