CHARITIES and community groups are invited to attend a free training session to gain skills and knowledge about running a successful local event.
South Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service (SLCVS) are leading the session which takes place on Saturday, November 12 between 10am and 4pm at Skegness Fires Station.
Business development and communications director at SLCVS Katy Roberts said: “There will be many events organised by our local community groups and organisations in East Lindsey during 2012 - particularly as it is the Olympic year and Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
“This training event will help organisations to understand some of the issues they may face and help in ensuring their events are a success.”
Experienced events organiser Teresa Parish will be delivering the training, which will cover diverse subjects from risk assessment to the disposal of cooking oil.
There will also be information provided on health and safety, food health, fire and rescue, first aid, the services of Lincolnshire Police, Highways, and many more.
Trainees will also be provided with an East Lindsey Events Toolkit Guide courtesy of East Lindsey District Council, which is supporting the training.
SLCVS is an organisation which supports, promotes and represents local voluntary and community sector organsiations in the aim of providing them with high qualtiy services and resources to create a thriving voluntary and community sector.
