A delightful party complete with entertainment and a buffet tea was held to mark the special 101st birthday of a Skegness resident last week.
Ethel Flint who lives at Westcotes Residential Home, South Parade, celebrated the milestone on Friday with friends, fellow residents and staff.
There was musical entertainment provided by singer Jenny Webb which was enjoyed by all and Ethel who is fond of music.
All enjoyed a delicious buffet tea and celebratory birthday cake to mark the occasion.
Ethel, who is originally from Leicester, came to live at Westcotes in January 2008 after living with her niece.
“Ethel enjoys music and anything sweet, she also loves a walk,” said Tina Redford, deputy manager at Westcotes Residential Home.
There were also cards, gifts and flowers to enjoy on the day which was enjoyed by all.
In fact, Ethel won’t be the only centenarian at the home, as by December there will be two others who are 100 years or more in age.
“We’ll have three over the age of 100 by December - we must be doing something right,” added Tina.
“We like to keep activities going on and all will be going to Janice Sutton’s show in August,” she said.
Also in August, the home will be holding its Summer Fair event on August 10.
It will run from 2pm-4pm with everyone invited to enjoy a whole range of stalls.
“There will be a chocolate tombola, stalls, a raffle, a cake stall and more,” explained Tina.
