Wood-burning upsets residents

CARAVAN park residents in Ingoldmells have complained after being plagued by a persistent cloud of smoke from a nearby wood fire.

Guests at Mill Hill Caravan Park claim that wood burning for three continuous days has covered their property in a thick film of smoky residue, killed plants and made spending time outdoors unpleasant.

Regular site visitor Roseanne Frost said: “The fact that they can allow it in the atmosphere is quite disgusting. A lot of the caravan owners have just packed up and left, it’s that bad.”

Several guests have reported the problem to East Lindsey District Council which is investigating the matter.

The burning had stopped when the Standard went to press.
