Groups of travellers have once again descended on East Lindsey District Council car parks on Skegness sea front.

Portfolio Holder for the Environment, Councillor Steve O’Dare, said: “We are aware that there are travellers present on both Princes Parade and North Parade Car Parks. Within 24 hours of arrival on the Princes Parade Car Park, legal papers were served with the courts. We will now serve papers in relation to the North Parade Car Park also.”

“The issue of the unlawful use of car parks in Skegness is an important issue for both the local community and East Lindsey District Council. The Council is actively reviewing what can be done to make the car parks more secure with a view to implementation as speedily as the legal process allows,” he added.
