This winged wonder was captured in close-up by Skegness man Jim Hardaker after it visited his garden in Wilford Grove.
Jim, 35, shared the impresseive image with The Standard, though was unsure whether it was a dragonfly or a damselfly.
He said: “It’s not often we see these in the garden, but this one settled on top of our bird feeder for about five minutes and I was able to capture the image with my phone.
“Then another one arrived and they both flew away.”
He added: “I saw an even bigger one recently in Nottingham city centre too, so I wonder if they’re starting to venture into built-up areas a little more ... or perhaps I’ve just never spotted them before!
“It’s always nice to see something unusual in any case.”
